Match Group CEO Bernard Kim recently made headlines after he admitted to spending $50,000 in just three months on the mobile strategy game, Clash of Clans. However, in a recent online dating summit, Kim declared that dating apps like Tinder are a better use of time than mobile games.

Speaking at the summit, Kim compared the relative merits of mobile games and dating apps. He noted that while mobile games can be fun and engaging, the rewards they offer are limited. In contrast, he argued that finding a lifelong partner through a dating app like Tinder is an “immeasurable reward” that can lead to “unbelievable happiness.”

Kim’s comments are notable given his previous involvement in the mobile gaming industry. Before joining Match Group, Kim served as president of Zynga, where he was heavily involved in the developer’s move into blockchain gaming and NFTs. However, it appears that he has now turned his back on the idea of big money in-game purchases.

Kim’s comments also highlight the growing popularity of dating apps like Tinder. With more and more people using these platforms to find love, it’s clear that they offer a unique and powerful way to connect with others. And while some may still view online dating with skepticism, the success stories speak for themselves.

In recent years, Match Group has emerged as a dominant force in the online dating industry, with a portfolio of apps that includes Tinder, Hinge, OkCupid, and Plenty of Fish. And with Kim at the helm, the company seems poised for continued success.

Of course, as with any technology platform, there are risks and drawbacks associated with dating apps. From fake profiles to online harassment, users must be vigilant to ensure their safety and wellbeing. But with strong security features and a commitment to user safety, platforms like Tinder are working hard to address these issues.

In the end, it seems that Kim’s experience with Clash of Clans has taught him an important lesson about the value of time. While mobile games can be fun and addictive, they pale in comparison to the rewards that dating apps like Tinder can offer. And with the continued growth of the online dating industry, it’s clear that more and more people are coming to the same conclusion.

Kim argued that, while mobile games can be fun and engaging, dating apps have the potential to lead to long-lasting happiness. “Potentially meeting your wife on a dating app is an immeasurable reward that will last a lifetime and lead to unbelievable happiness,” he said.

Kim’s comments come as the popularity of mobile gaming continues to soar, with games like Clash of Clans and Fortnite raking in millions of dollars in revenue each day. However, Kim’s own experiences suggest that some players may be spending more than they can afford on in-game purchases.

Interestingly, Kim’s previous role was as the president of Zynga, where he was heavily involved in the company’s move into blockchain gaming and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). However, it appears that his time spent in the gaming industry has led him to believe that the biggest rewards come from real-life experiences rather than virtual ones.

While there is no doubt that mobile gaming is here to stay, Kim’s comments may serve as a reminder to players to be mindful of the amount of time and money they spend on these games. With the rise of blockchain gaming and NFTs, it will be interesting to see how the industry evolves in the coming years and whether or not Kim’s comments will hold true for the future of gaming.

In the meantime, Match Group continues to dominate the online dating market, with popular apps like Tinder, Hinge, and OkCupid. As the CEO of the company, Bernard Kim is certainly in a position to promote the benefits of dating apps over mobile games, and his comments may inspire more people to give online dating a try.
